Position: Full time, permanent
Starting date: As soon as possible
Salary: $19.00 to $24.00 per hour, according to experience
Shift: Days or nights
Hours of work:
Days: Monday – Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Nights: Monday – Thursday 4:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Area: Shop floor
Compensation: Company paid benefits plan/RRSP contributions

Fitter/Welders are responsible for the layout, fitting, and welding fabrication.

- Work in compliance with the provision of the Act and the regulations and all applicable legislation
- Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn
- Be trained in the appropriate welding procedure and on the appropriate welding machine
- Follow all health and safety rules and regulations as per Cambridge Pro Fab Inc.’s policies and procedures
- Work and assist others in continuously improving safety
- Able to understand, interpret, and lay out work as per engineering drawings, bill of materials, and work orders
- Responsible for proper use and handling of company, coworkers, and personal equipment, machinery and tools
- Ensure work area is kept clean and safe at all times
- Fitting parts that have been assigned (may be required to lift steel by hand, overhead crane, and/or forklift – training and certification required)
- Operate a welding machine in a safe and professional manner
- May be required at minimum to pass a CWB flat position weld test and may be asked to pass an all-position test
- Weld any job as assigned by the Plant Manager, and/or Plant Supervisor. This may include, but is not limited to, working at certain heights, working within confined spaces, and welding in some areas for a prolonged period of time. When welding at certain heights and/or in confined spaces, additional training may be required. The ability to be agile and flexible for welding in any position(s) is required. Welding of various metals may be required
- Clean own welds with grinders, scrapers, wire brush, and/or chipping hammer
- Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately in all steps within the process of manufacturing
- Maintain a consistent line of communication between themselves, the Plant Manager, Supervisors and fellow coworkers
- Perform other duties outside the normal scope of their daily tasks for the betterment of the company
- Occasional use of overhead cranes, forklift, ladders, and other equipment as per company procedures
- Correctly fill in and hand in daily time cards

Tools listed below as required to fill the position. It is expected that most tools on the list are already in your possession; however, time will be allotted to obtain the full tool requirement.

As a minimum, all Fitter/Welders shall be able to pass a classification S, class 1GF, D1.1 1998 qualification for Gas Metal Arc Welding of steels over ⅛” thick.
